Motorola Rizr Z8 “Kick Slider”

Motorola RIZR Z8 dual view

Here is a new type of phone no one really expected to see from our friends at Motorola. It is in fact a really innovative design, that I prefer personally over the conventional slider phones. This one actually pivots and curves to form a spoon shape. It is also boasting a new mobile OS developed by Symbian with what I believe to be a custom user interface, which I found more favorable than the old UI.

The screen quality of this phone is really quite stunning, with a 16 million color 35 x 50 mm QVGA full screen display. It is also capable of 30 FPS video playback. BSkyB Ltd will be the mobile video content provider, and has a large list of channels with news, entertainment, sports etc.

Additional Features of the Moto Rizr Z8:

  • 2.0-megapixel camera + 8x zoom + LED Flash/ Video record + playback / red eye reduction
  • Music Player with Playlists + New UI all around
  • EDGE + Bluetooth Technology
  • Battery Life is approx. five hours 3G talk time / 16 days standby time
  • microSD card slot

This is a very nice high end phone that unfortunately for the US will start sales overseas. Since it is on Sky, it is everyone’s best guess that this will be for European countries only. However the Motorola Rizr Z6 is a conventional slider with similar features that will launch around the same time as the Z8, this April.
