Sprint, which has certainly been on the rise since the aquisition of Nextel for US$35Billion Last August, has just announced the launce of a new music salient phone driven by the increase in demand for handsets with music capabilities. The LG Fusic will be exclusive to Sprint, and will support Sprint’s music store for over the air downloads. It will be the first mobile phone in the U.S. to include an FM transmitter that will send a signal to your car or home stero system.
Sprint is seeing significant growth in the demand for music on mobile phones. In fact, since launching the Sprint Music Store last fall more than three million songs have now been downloaded,” said Danny Bowman, vice president of product marketing for Sprint. “FUSIC delivers the best in mobility and Sprint Power Vision services in a single device. It is designed to enhance the overall mobile entertainment experience for customers and offers a variety of personalization options.
Some features of the LG Fusic include:
- Bluetooth (with A2DP support for stereo headsets)
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- microSD card slot (64MB card included)
- EV-DO
- instant access to the Sprint Music Store(SM) for downloading full songs over-the-air
- External music control keys
The LG Fusic (otherwise known as LG550) comes in 4 different colors; blue, green, pink, and black — it started shipping this week on May 28th. It is one of Sprint’s pricer phones at a price of $179.99 with a two-year service agreement. I really like the external music interface, and it is obvious LG racked themselfs working up a product that music fans would appreciate.
