Adobe Flash for Verizon phones

The popular web animation app Flash is being installed with Verizon Wireless phones. Verizon is the number two leading service provider in the United States. Analysts are predicting a $1 billion revenue increase for Adobe, and may very well be an accurate prediction. Flash content in my opinion could be extremely useful for mobile applications given the fact Flash was originally developed for the web in 1997. I could easily see it being implemented for easier navigation givin the nature of Flash’s scaleability.
Adobe Systems Inc. aquired Macromedia (the original developer of Flash) in late 2005 for $3.4 billion. With this deal sure to strike many other mobile service carriers in the future, it surely seems to be a nice aquisition.
“The new service will allow customers to more quickly view graphic images on their screens. For Adobe, it pushes the company beyond computers and into the potentially lucrative mobile phone market.” said Adobe Vice President Gary Kovacs.
